Art Lessons

If you are interested in private painting or drawing lessons for yourself or your child, please feel free to contact me for further information.

    - All ages and skill levels are welcome!
    - One-on-one painting (or drawing) instruction.
    - Each lesson is custom fit to developing your own individual interests and goals.
    - Lessons take place at my studio in North Vancouver, BC.
*Please note that students need to provide all of their own art supplies.
(The initial lesson also includes a trip to Opus Art Supplies in North Vancouver to purchase any additional art supplies if needed.)
Sandra Harris' Teaching Philosophy:
My intention is not to teach you to paint just like me, rather it is to mentor and empower the development of your own style. Hence, the first few meetings will involve figuring out specifically what interests you with regard to subject matter. We will be building skills and structure in your art, so if we’re working from something that you already like to draw or paint on your own then the skill building process becomes a lot easier to engage in.

(For myself and as a painter, the subject matter that holds my attention like that is the natural landscape. As a child though, I honed my drawing skills simply by re-drawing images from comic books that I was blown away by because they were beyond anything that I could do back then.)
